Corey Hulen

Co-Founder & CTO at Mattermost

Corey Hulen is a Co-Founder and the CTO of Mattermost. Corey has over fifteen years of experience in the technology industry, with a focus on mobile productivity and machine intelligence.

Corey's career began at Microsoft, where they spent six years as a Senior Development Lead and Architect. Corey then left Microsoft to become an Entrepreneur-in-Residence at Stanford Research Institute. At Stanford, Corey developed and led the commercialization of machine intelligence technology designed to dramatically improve productivity in mobile communications products. This work led to the creation of Tempo AI, a mobile productivity startup that was acquired by Salesforce in 2015.

At Mattermost, Corey is responsible for leading the technical vision and implementation for the company's popular open source messaging platform. Corey has raised over $12.5M in venture funding from Sierra Ventures and Relay Ventures, and has grown the team to over 30 highly skilled engineers. The Mattermost platform is localized in 9 languages and offered in 26 countries.

Corey Hulen has a Bachelor of Science in Computer Science from California Polytechnic State University-San Luis Obispo.
