Daniel Schalla

Daniel Schalla has extensive experience in the field of security, currently serving as Head of Security at Mattermost since January 2019, after progressing from Lead Security Engineer to Security Engineer. Prior to Mattermost, Daniel worked at IBM from October 2013 to December 2018 as a Professional Services Engineer specializing in SIEM/DFIR and began as a Corporate Student in Applied Computer Science. Additionally, Daniel operated as a Freelancer in web development between October 2012 and September 2016. Daniel is pursuing a Master of Science degree in Information Security Engineering at the SANS Technology Institute from July 2023 to July 2025 and holds a Bachelor's degree in Applied Computer Science from Baden-Wuerttemberg Cooperative State University (DHBW), completed in September 2016.
