Dana Vantrease, Ph.D., currently serves as a Software Engineer at MatX, starting in January 2024. Previously, Dana Vantrease held various roles at Amazon Web Services from October 2016 to February 2023, including Technical Lead for Annapurna Labs, where responsibilities included overseeing the programmability strategy for Trainium and leading the integration of programmable cores into the TRN1 SOC. As a founding engineer, Dana Vantrease contributed significantly to AWS's first custom ML silicon server chip project, Inferentia. Prior experience includes a Visiting Lecturer position at Princeton University, a Performance Architect role at Qualcomm with a focus on cache subsystems, and research at Hewlett-Packard Laboratories on advanced chip design.
