Financial Institutions Practice Leader & Partner at Mauldin & Jenkins

Ron Mitchell brings more than 27 years of financial accounting and reporting, tax, and advisory experience to his role as a partner at Mauldin & Jenkins, LLC. Ron is responsible for the ongoing supervision of financial institution clients, which includes overseeing the completion of engagements such as opinion audits and tax services, risk management services, SEC reporting and public company compliance issues, and other advisory services. He is responsible for the on-site supervision of professional staff and their compliance with all professional and regulatory standards. He also performs advisory services, which include COSO 2013 and SOX 404 assistance, CECL transition assistance, IRR and liquidity reviews, de novo bank formations, S share accounting, derivatives, and other advisory services. Ron also currently serves as the firm-wide financial institutions practice leader for Mauldin & Jenkins. Ron has worked with Mauldin & Jenkins since receiving his Bachelor of Business Administration (BBA) degree in Accounting. Ron attended both Valdosta State University and The University of Georgia. He is a Certified Public Accountant (CPA) in the states of Georgia, Florida, and Illinois. Ron is an active member of multiple accounting and finance associations, including the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants, the Georgia and Florida Societies of Certified Public Accountants, the Georgia Bankers Association, the Community Bankers Association of Georgia, and the Florida Bankers Association. Ron is also a frequent speaker and presenter at various bankers’ association meetings, seminars, and tradeshows. Ron is married to Tina Mitchell and they have two boys, Cole and Cross.
