Frederic Banegas, PhD, MBA

Frederic Banegas, PhD, MBA has a wealth of experience in the medical device and technology industries. Frederic began their career in 2000 as an R&D Engineer at Bionatics, a software editor providing 3D solutions for decision making in Smart Cities & Territory management. In 2004, they co-founded Intrasense, where they served as both Chief Operating Officer and Chief Technology Officer. As CTO, they were responsible for establishing the company strategy and product positioning, building and managing the R&D team, delivering a compliant medical device, and translating innovation to industrial-grade value propositions. In 2013, they joined Techniques de l'Ingénieur as an Editorial Advisor. In 2017, they became R&D Director at Quantum Surgical SAS, where they were responsible for establishing company & product positioning as a member of the strategic committee. In 2020, they became President of Fred&Consult. Most recently, in 2021, they joined Mauna Kea Technologies as Chief Technology Officer, where they are in charge of supporting the company strategy, building and managing the R&D team, establishing the technological strategy, delivering a compliant medical device, and translating innovation to industrial-grade value proposition.

Frederic Banegas earned their Doctor of Philosophy (Ph.D.) in Computer Science - 3D reconstruction and shape characterization from \u00c9cole des Mines de Saint-\u00c9tienne between 1997 and 2000. Frederic then went on to earn their Master of Business Administration (M.B.A.) from Montpellier Business School between 2015 and 2017, with a focus in Business, Management, Marketing, and Finance.
