Julien Van Lint has extensive work experience in the field of geology, particularly in the oil and gas industry. Julien started their career in 2003 as a Geologist at BRGM, where they worked for a few months before transitioning to EGID, TOTAL & BRGM as a Geologist in 2004. In 2005, they joined Total E&P as a Reservoir Geologist for a brief period.
In 2006, Julien joined Beicip-Franlab as a Geologist, Geomodeller, and Petrophysicist. During their tenure at Beicip-Franlab, they worked on various projects in Kuwait, Canada, Venezuela, and Lybia. Julien was responsible for tasks such as petrophysical interpretations, rock-typing, 3D geomodeling, and volumetric estimates. Julien also worked as a consultant for PDVSA in Caracas, Venezuela.
In 2012, Julien moved to MAUREL & PROM, where they held multiple roles. Initially, they worked as a Senior Geologist, Development Geologist, and Petrophysicist, focusing on Gabonese operated fields development and step-out exploration. Their responsibilities included building and supervising the construction of detailed 3D geological models, proposing and validating new well designs, supervising operation geology, and collaborating with other disciplines. Julien also contributed to FDP and reserves certification and supervised third-party geological projects. Julien also played a role in prospect definition, well proposal and operation supervision, as well as well interpretation and post mortem in Gabon, Colombia, and Tanzania. Additionally, they were involved in peer reviews, technical meetings with partners, data rooms, and new project assessments. Julien occasionally served as a training instructor for IFP-Training.
Julien's most recent role at MAUREL & PROM is Chief Geologist, which they assumed in March 2021. As Chief Geologist, they continue to contribute their expertise and leadership to the company.
Julien Van Lint completed their Master's degree in Geosciences from ENSEGID - Bordeaux INP in the years 2001 to 2004. Julien then pursued further education and obtained an MSc in Petroleum Geology (GOL) from IFP School from 2004 to 2006.
