Salome Oyuga

Salome Oyuga has worked in the financial industry since 2007. Salome started at Wananchi Group as Financial Controller, where they supervised Accounts Payable, Accounts Receivable, Procurement, Logistics and Stores and treasury. Salome was also responsible for conducting staff recruitment and induction and managing the company insurance portfolio. During their time at Wananchi Group, they successfully managed a 9 member finance team to put up various proposals and respond to due diligence requirements which resulted in a $25m investment into the company. Salome also streamlined management reporting deadlines through re-alignment of responsibility, transformation of financial operations and procurement processes.

In 2011, Salome Oyuga moved to Linksoft Integrated Services (East Africa) Limited as Chief Financial Officer. In this role, they were in charge of Finance, Human Resources and Administration, Legal operations, Health and Safety department and Supply Chain operations. Salome also developed and executed a strategy for the company, established a talent management strategy and restructured financing and contractual terms to return the company from negative cash flows to positive cash flow position. Salome also exceeded cost savings target of 15% to deliver 28% in the FY2017 through a cost-cutting initiative across the organization.

In 2019, Salome Oyuga joined BBOXX Capital Kenya Ltd as Finance. Salome is currently Chief Financial Officer at Mawingu, a position they have held since 2022.

Salome Oyuga has a comprehensive education history. From 2019 to 2022, they are pursuing a Doctor of Philosophy in Business and Management from Strathmore Business School (SBS). From 2015 to 2017, they earned a Master of Business Administration from London School of Business and Finance LSBF. Between 2006 and 2008, they completed a Bachelor of Commerce in Accounting and Finance from Strathmore University. Additionally, they hold certifications from the Project Management Institute, including Program Management Professional (PgMP) in 2018, PMP in 2018, and Project Management Professional (PMP) in 2018. Salome also holds a CPA (K) certification from the Institute of Certified Accountants of Kenya, obtained in 2003.
