Emil Westgren has a diverse work experience in the finance and insurance industry. Emil is currently the Head of Group Finance at Max Matthiessen. Prior to this, they worked as an Independent Advisor to organizations and investment platforms at Advim. In 2018, they were a Partner - CFO Services at Florén Westgren. From 2013 to 2018, they held the position of Chief Financial Officer & Deputy CEO at Hjerta Norden AB, where they led a significant change process and helped grow the company into a fully integrated financial service provider. Before that, they had various roles at Skandia Norden, including Chief Financial Officer Skandiabanken and Head of Administration and Backoffice, where they implemented new strategies, integrated functions, and improved efficiency. Emil Westgren began their career as an International Management Trainee at Skandia Norden in 2001.

Emil Westgren attended Uppsala University from 1996 to 2001, where they obtained a Degree of Bachelor of Science in Business Administration and Economics with a focus in finance and accounting. In 2006 to 2007, they participated in the Extending Boundary Program (EBP) at Skandia Southampton in the UK, specializing in organizational leadership. In 2010 to 2011, they pursued the IFL Executive Education program at the Stockholm School of Economics, focusing on executive management with a program code of GEM 63. Additionally, in 2014, Emil Westgren received training and education in board of directors at Grant Thornton.
