Sam Hashemi

Field-Programmable Gate Arrays Engineer

Sam Hashemi has a diverse work experience, starting with their current position as a Field-Programmable Gate Arrays Engineer at MaXentric Technologies since 2020. Prior to this, Sam worked at the University of Florida from 2014 to 2020, where they served as a Research Assistant and Teaching Assistant. During their time at the University of Florida, Sam contributed to multiple NIH/DARPA funded research projects, focusing on optogenetics, FPGA engineering, and wireless neural signal transmission. They were involved in developing a novel neural data compression algorithm on Microsemi nano FPGA and implementing a MIPS processor on Xilinx Zynq board. Sam also worked at Michigan State University from 2012 to 2014 as a Research Assistant and Graduate Research Assistant. They actively participated in an NIH/DARPA funded project, programming FPGAs and writing neural signal compression algorithms for wireless neural signal transmitters. They also contributed to redesigning the wireless transmitter in ASIC, resulting in improved power consumption and size reduction.

Sam Hashemi holds a Master of Science (MS) degree in Computer Engineering, which was achieved from the University of Florida. Sam pursued this degree from 2014 to 2019. Prior to this, Sam completed their Bachelor of Science (BSc) in Computer Hardware Engineering from Sharif University of Technology, spanning from 2008 to 2012.
