Yazid Mohamed

Yazid Mohamed has a diverse work experience spanning multiple companies.

Yazid began their career as a Network Engineer at Brilliance Information Sdn Bhd in 2002, where they were responsible for implementing, troubleshooting, maintaining, and supporting various networking protocols and system software. Yazid also provided support for WAN/Network Equipment, servers, workstations, PCs, printers, and computer peripherals.

In 2005, Yazid joined CSA (Computer System Adviser) as a System Engineer. In this role, they were involved in incident management, supporting Sun Microsystems servers, installing and configuring Veritas Volume and Solstice Disk Suite, implementing RAID levels, shell scripting, system health checks, and preventive maintenance.

Yazid's next role was at Maxis, where they held several positions. Yazid started as a Senior Engineer in Core Network Operation in 2006. Here, they provided consultation and suggestions to the Monitoring Center and Performance Team, resolved trouble tickets, and supported investigations by providing data extraction and analysis. Yazid also had responsibilities for IN, MNP, HLR, and VICG elements and software patches.

Yazid progressed to Assistant Principal Engineer in Core Network Operation in 2010, leading service and system fault ownership, KPI reporting, performance analysis, and coordination with vendors and engineering teams for network expansions and upgrades.

In 2012, they became a Principal Engineer in Core Service Operation, where they coordinated post-outage meetings, ensured SLA compliance, provided technical assistance, and offered expertise in IN, MNP, HLR, VICG Sigtran signaling, and GSM mobile systems.

Yazid's next role was as a Service Assurance Specialist in Core Service Assurance, where they provided third-level support for customer complaints, managed change management processes, supported network design, and performed system optimization.

Yazid'smost recent role at Maxis was as a CS Core Senior Specialist in Core Network Engineering, where they focused on CS Core engineering.

Throughout their career, Yazid has demonstrated expertise in network operations, system engineering, troubleshooting, and project management.

Yazid Mohamed holds a Master's degree in Electrical, Electronics and Communications Engineering from Universiti Teknologi Malaysia, which they obtained from 2000 to 2003. Prior to that, they completed their Bachelor's degree in the same field at the same university from 1995 to 1999. In addition, they have obtained certifications in ITIL® 2011 Foundation and Intermediate: Service Operation from Quint Wellington Redwood in 2013 and 2014 respectively. Yazid also holds a certification as a Professional Scrum Master 1 from Scrum.org, and a CCNA certification from Cisco, which they obtained in October 2007.
