Robert Pearl Starks has had a diverse and extensive career. Robert began their professional career in 2001 as the Managing Partner at G&R Entertainment. In 2005, they joined Career Education Corporation as a Senior Career Advisor, eventually being promoted to Associate Director of Training & Development and then Director of Career Services. In 2011, they founded Careertipster LLC, where they wrote and edited content for a career advice blog, presented at workshops and conferences, and authored an eCourse. In 2012, they joined MaxKnowledge, Inc. as Vice President of Product Development and Product Leader, where they lead the development of CareerPrepped and sourced, hired, and lead a remote, global team of UX developers, graphic & web designers, video editors, and motion graphics artists. Robert was later promoted to Vice President of Learning Initiatives, where they worked closely with MaxKnowledge partners and subject matter experts to form research-based competency standards, curriculum development, and national certification for career services professionals.

Robert Pearl Starks has a strong educational background. Robert obtained a Bachelor of Science in Marketing from the W. P. Carey School of Business at Arizona State University between 1999 and 2003. Robert then went on to earn a Master of Science in Management from Colorado Technical University between 2009 and 2011. Lastly, they obtained their High School Diploma from Brophy College Preparatory. Additionally, Robert has obtained six certifications from LinkedIn in 2021, including Agile Development in the New World of Work, Agile Software Development: Creating an Agile Culture, Design Thinking: Understanding the Process, DevOps Foundations: DevSecOps, Learning Design Thinking, and Managing and Working with a Technical Team for Nontechnical Professionals.
