Brett O'Leary

Head - Customer Success and Business Development at MaxMine

Brett O'Leary has a diverse work history with experience in leadership roles and business development. In 2008, they worked as an Investment Consultant at STANLIB. From 2011 to 2013, they served as the Director of Business Development at Rudman Hydraulics. Following this, they held the position of Sales Director at Rudman Hydraulics from 2013 to 2016. In 2017, O'Leary founded and served as the Managing Director of New H2O Resources in South Africa. From 2018 to 2020, they worked as the Regional Manager for Africa at MineSense Technologies Ltd., and then transitioned to the role of Regional Manager for EMEA from 2020 to 2021. Brett later became the Regional Manager for EMEA and APAC from 2021 to 2023. Currently, they are the Head of Customer Success and Business Development at MaxMine.

Brett O'Leary has a diverse education history. In 1998, they completed their IEB certification at St. John's College. Subsequently, from 2005 to 2008, they studied at Stellenbosch University and earned a Bachelor of Arts degree in Human Resources Management and Services. In 2015 to 2017, Brett pursued a Master of Business Administration (MBA) at the University of the Witwatersrand, specializing in Sustainability Studies.

Continuing their educational journey, in 2016 to 2017, they attended WU (Vienna University of Economics and Business) and received another Master of Business Administration (MBA) degree. Here, their focus was on Clean Technology. A year later, in 2019, Brett pursued a short course in Open Pit Mine Planning and Design at the University of Pretoria/Universiteit van Pretoria.

Most recently, in 2020, Brett engaged in a program at the University of Cambridge. Brett completed the Business Sustainability Management degree from the University of Cambridge Institute for Sustainability Leadership in August 2020.
