Marie Obien

Marie Engelene Obien is a seasoned professional in the fields of biosystems and engineering, currently serving as the Chief Commercial Officer and Co-Founder of MaxWell Biosystems since September 2016. Prior to this role, Marie held positions as VP of Sales and Marketing and also co-founded the company. Between December 2015 and November 2018, Marie worked as a Research Scientist at ETH Zurich in the Department of Biosystems Science and Engineering. Previous experience includes a postdoctoral position at RIKEN's Quantitative Biology Center from 2011 to 2015 and a PhD studentship along with a teaching assistant role at Nara Institute of Science and Technology from October 2008 to March 2011. Early in the career, Marie was an Assistant Instructor and Researcher at Ateneo de Manila University from October 2005 to March 2008. Educational qualifications include a PhD in Information Science from Nara Institute of Science and Technology and both an MS in Electronics Engineering and a BS in Electronics and Communications Engineering from Ateneo de Manila University.
