Ben Wilmer

Ben Wilmer has a diverse work experience in the field of information technology. Ben started their career at Epping Forest College as a Network Services Officer from 2001 to 2003. Ben then joined San Juan County as a Network Coordinator in 2004. In the same year, they also began working at Sequenom, Inc. as an IT Manager, handling infrastructure and global operations until 2013. In 2014, they took on the role of Director of Information Technology at Maxwell Technologies. Currently, Ben serves as a Staff Information Security Engineer at Tesla, starting in 2019.

Ben Wilmer began their education in 1997 at Hertford Regional College, where they studied Foundation in Information Technology until 1998. Ben then pursued a Certificate of Higher Education in Information Technology from the University of Hertfordshire, which they completed in 2001. In that same year, Ben also obtained certifications in Windows 2003 MCSE & MCSA from Microsoft.

After a gap in education, Ben enrolled in the Manager Training Program at UCSD Extension in 2012.

Additionally, Ben has obtained several certifications throughout their career. In 2014, they received the ITIL Foundation certification from APMG-International. In 2017, they obtained the Certified Information Systems Security Professional (CISSP) certification from (ISC)². More recently, in 2019, Ben achieved two certifications - Certified Information Security Manager (CISM) from ISACA and CrowdStrike Certified Falcon Responder (CCFR) from CrowdStrike.
