Krista Weatherford has a diverse and extensive work experience in various roles related to environmental education, wildlife programs, and community engagement. Their most recent position was as the Director of Programming and Community Engagement at Maymont, where they oversaw environmental and outdoor education, historical programs, community outreach, and wildlife programs. Prior to that, they worked as the Manager of Environmental Education at Maymont Foundation. Krista also had experience as a Park Interpreter at Virginia State Parks, where they led canoe and kayak trips, hikes, wildlife encounters, and outreach programs. Earlier in their career, they worked as an Education Coordinator at Georgia Southern University's Center for Wildlife Education and the Lamar Q Ball, Jr. Raptor Center, developing and presenting various programs for schools, groups, and the public. Additionally, they had internship experience as a Black Rhino Intern at Fossil Rim Wildlife Center and was involved in a Black Bear Population Study at the BYU Biology Department.
From 1996 to 1998, Krista Weatherford attended Brigham Young University, where they pursued a Bachelor's degree in Conservation Biology with an Emphasis in Wildlife.
