William Morice II

William Morice II, MD, PhD has extensive work experience at the Mayo Clinic. William began their career in 2000 as a Consultant in the Division of Hematopathology in the Department of Laboratory Medicine & Pathology. In 2009, they became the Chair of the Division of Hematopathology and held this position until 2015. In the same year, Dr. Morice became the Director of Designated Laboratory Director for the College of American Pathologists & CLIA and also took on the role of Chair of the Department of Laboratory Medicine & Pathology. In 2017, they served as the Interim Vice Chair of Business Development within the Department. In addition to their roles at the Mayo Clinic, Dr. Morice is the Chief Executive Officer of Mayo Clinic Laboratories and a Professor of Laboratory Medicine & Pathology at the Mayo Clinic School of Medicine.

William Morice II, MD, PhD obtained their Doctor of Medicine (MD) and Doctor of Philosophy (PhD) degrees from Mayo Clinic Alix School of Medicine. William'sPhD was focused on Biomedical Sciences & Immunology. Prior to that, they completed their Bachelor of Science (BS) in Biochemistry at Indiana University Bloomington.

In terms of additional certifications, Dr. Morice is Board Certified in Anatomic and Clinical Pathology and Hematopathology by the American Board of Pathology. William also holds medical doctor licenses in the states of New Jersey and Minnesota. As a Quality Fellow at Mayo Clinic, they have achieved Silver Level (2018) and Bronze Level (2011) recognition.
