Orthopaedic Surgery Resident at Mayo Clinic

JR Smith, MD, currently serves as an Orthopaedic Surgery Resident at Mayo Clinic since June 2024, following completion of a Doctor of Medicine degree at Mayo Clinic Alix School of Medicine in 2024. Prior experience includes a role as a Research Assistant at CU Sports Medicine and Performance Center from May 2017 to May 2020, focusing on sports medicine research, and serving as a Peer Mentor in the David M. Rubenstein Scholars Program from August 2017 to May 2018, where guidance was provided to first-generation minority college students. JR Smith obtained a Bachelor of Applied Science in Pre-Medicine, Evolutionary Anthropology, and Chemistry from Duke University in 2018. Currently enrolled in a Medical Residency at Mayo Clinic Graduate School of Biomedical Sciences, expected to complete in 2029.
