Nicole Varela M.d.

Nicole Varela M.D., MBA, currently serves as the Patient Safety Officer at Mayo Clinic and is also an Anesthesiologist. Prior to this, Nicole held several positions at Winona Health, including Vice Chief of Medical Staff, Medical Director of Anesthesia, and Member of the Board of Directors, as well as practicing as an Anesthesiologist from 2011 to 2018. Nicole's medical training includes an Anesthesia Residency and an Internal Medicine Residency completed at Mayo Clinic. Nicole earned a Doctor of Medicine degree from Marshall University and a Bachelor of Applied Science in Occupational Therapy from the University of Sydney. Additionally, ongoing studies at the University of Minnesota Duluth will culminate in a Master of Business Administration degree.
