VP Translational Genomics at Maze Therapeutics

Karol Estrada, MSc, PhD has extensive work experience in the field of genomics and statistical genetics. They are currently serving as the VP Translational Genomics at Maze Therapeutics. Karol began their educational journey in 1997 at Tecnológico de Monterrey, where they pursued a Bachelor of Science degree in Computer Systems Engineering, completing their studies in 2001. Following this, from 2002 to 2004, Karol pursued a Master of Science degree in Computer Science at Tecnológico de Monterrey.

Karol continued to pursue higher education, and from 2008 to 2012, they attended Erasmus University Rotterdam, where they obtained their Ph.D. in Genetic Epidemiology. During this period, they focused on the study of how genetic factors interact with epidemiological risks to contribute to the development of diseases.

Furthermore, Karol Estrada has also obtained a Professional Certificate in Drug and Medical Device Development. In December 2019, they completed the program at MIT xPRO, offered by the Massachusetts Institute of Technology. Through this certification, they gained comprehensive knowledge and expertise in the field of drug and medical device development.
