Amber Shimkus

Amber Shimkus has a diverse work experience ranging from higher education administration to software implementation and customer success management. Amber is currently working as the Lead Information Delivery Specialist at Millsapps, Ballinger & Associates (MB&A), where they started in 2023. Prior to that, they served as the Associate Information Delivery Specialist at the same company from 2022 to 2023.

Amber also worked as the Cyber Learning Center and Hatchery Manager at Gannon University from 2021 to 2022, where they managed the day-to-day operations of Gannon's Institute for Health and Cyber Learning (I-HACK), supported the needs of their Cyber programs, and directed the AFA CyberPatriot Summer Camp.

From 2019 to 2021, they were employed at ContentMX, holding two roles. Amber first worked as a Client Success Manager, where they collaborated with developers to improve platform features and user experience. Later, they transitioned to the role of Learning and Implementation Manager, where they created and maintained software product knowledge bases, led email campaigns, redesigned ContentMX's publication, hosted webinars, and led the implementation of HubSpot and Cisco WebEx.

Before that, Amber worked as an Office Administrator at Berkshire Hathaway HomeServices in 2019, a Graduate Teaching Fellow and Social Media/PR Intern at the University of Massachusetts Dartmouth from 2017 to 2019, a Claims Specialist at Arbella Insurance Group from 2016 to 2017, and a Guest Service Representative at Dunkin' Brands from 2014 to 2016. Amber also served as a Crew Member at McDonald's from 2007 to 2013.

Amber's early work experience includes roles at UMass Dartmouth, where they served as a Peer Advisor for Study Abroad, English Tutor, and Teaching and Learning Assistant from 2010 to 2013.

Amber Shimkus pursued their education at the University of Massachusetts Dartmouth. From 2009 to 2013, they obtained their Bachelor of Arts (BA) degree in English Literature and Criticism, with a minor in Portuguese. Later, between 2017 and 2019, they completed their Master's of Arts in Professional Writing at the same institution.
