Lamar Heystek has a diverse work experience that spans across various industries and roles. Lamar started their career as a Shop Steward at Safeway and later became a Lecturer at UC Davis. Lamar then served as a Councilmember/Commissioner for the City of Davis. After that, they worked as a Program Manager at Yolo Family Resource Center. Lamar gained political experience as the Political Director for Mike Honda's congressional campaign, where they were responsible for managing stakeholder relations, communication, speechwriting, event planning, and fundraising research. Lamar'smost recent role was as the Director of the San Francisco MBDA Business Center at the Minority Business Development Agency - U.S. Department of Commerce, where they coordinated and leveraged resources to support the growth and competitiveness of minority-owned businesses.

Lamar Heystek's education history includes a Bachelor of Arts (honoris causa) degree in Economics and Mathematics from Utrecht University. Minority Business Development Agency
