Amir Shenouda, Ph.D. is a partner with McDonnell Boehnen Hulbert & Berghoff LLP. Dr. Shenouda has experience in domestic and foreign patent application preparation and prosecution, validity, infringement, patentability analyses, and litigation matters in the areas of electrical engineering, mechanical engineering, telecommunications, and computer technology.
Dr. Shenouda represents Fortune 500 companies as well as individual inventors. Dr. Shenouda’s prosecution experience includes specific technologies associated with wearable computing devices, mobile device software, autonomous vehicles, telecommunications, video processing, 3D object data modeling, speech recognition, robotic controls, mobile Internet platforms, medical devices, photovoltaic devices, batteries, automotive repair information systems, complex mechanical systems, and hydraulic systems.
Dr. Shenouda joined MBHB as a technical advisor/patent agent. He attended the John Marshall Law School part-time while maintaining his full-time position at the firm. At the John Marshall Law School, Dr. Shenouda received the Honorable Howard T. Markey Distinguished Scholar Award, was the winner of Dean Fred F. Herzog Moot Court Competition, and was a member of The John Marshall Review of Intellectual Property Law journal.
Prior to joining MBHB, Dr. Shenouda worked as a senior principal engineer within the hydraulic valve division at a leading global manufacturer of motion and control technologies and systems that provides precision-engineered solutions for a wide variety of commercial, mobile, industrial and aerospace markets.
Dr. Shenouda received his Ph.D. and M.S. degrees from the Georgia Institute of Technology where he worked as a graduate researcher at the intelligent machine dynamics laboratory. Dr. Shenouda’s research at the intelligent machine dynamics laboratory focused on advanced control systems of robots and hydraulic machinery.
Dr. Shenouda is an inventor, author, researcher, trainer and lecturer on a variety of topics including those associated with hydraulic control systems.
