Daniel Story

Daniel Story has a diverse work experience in finance and management roles. Daniel is currently the Finance Director for Japan, Korea, South East Asia, and Taiwan at McCain Foods since January 2023. Prior to that, they served as the Strategy & Project Management Office Director for Australia and New Zealand, leading the corporate strategy team and project management office, achieving record cost reductions and restored margins. From October 2019 to October 2021, they held the position of Head of Finance and Business Planning for Australia and New Zealand, where they successfully managed accounting, financial planning, and analysis during the pandemic.

Before joining McCain Foods, Daniel worked at Molson Coors as the Regional Finance Director for Asia Pacific and South Africa from April 2018 to September 2019. Daniel focused on growth strategies, including M&A, adjacent categories, and premiumizing the portfolio in key markets, and established the regional HQ.

From December 2016 to March 2018, they held the role of Head of Commercial Finance at SPC Global, where they were responsible for commercial strategy, planning, and financial performance management.

Daniel also has previous experience at Carlton & United Breweries, where they held various roles from 2011 to 2016, including Senior Finance Manager for Commercial, Commercial Finance Manager for Woolworths, Commercial Finance Manager for Wholesale and Independents, and Senior Analyst for Victoria and Tasmania. Daniel managed performance, planning, and forecasting processes, partnered with sales directors to manage strategies and performance, and implemented customer programs and pricing tactics.

Daniel started their career in 2004 at American Express Global Business Travel, first as a Senior Analyst, managing budgeting and reporting, and later as the Commercial Finance Manager for Asia-Pacific, focusing on margin improvement and client and supplier negotiations.

Prior to that, they worked as a Commercial Manager for Liquor at Metcash from December 2009 to April 2011.

Daniel Story's education history includes the completion of the Chartered Accountants Australia and New Zealand program, earning a CA degree. Daniel also obtained a BCom degree in Accounting and Politics from Macquarie University. Additionally, Daniel completed their Higher School Certificate at Oakhill College.
