Karen Schmitt

Karen Schmitt is the current secretary at McCarter Theatre Center. Karen has previously worked as the chief financial officer at Maiden Holdings Ltd., as well as the EVP, COO at GMAC RE. Schmitt has also served as the president of Maiden Specialty Insurance Company, Maiden Re, and Maiden Reinsurance Company. In addition to their work in the theatre, they have also been a chief actuary at TIG and vice president at American Re-Insurance Company.

Karen Schmitt, MBA, FCAS, MAAA is an experienced insurance professional with a background in actuarial science. Karen holds a Bachelor of Science in Actuarial Science from Lebanon Valley College, and a Master of Business Administration from The Wharton School. Karen also has executive education from Stanford Graduate School of Business. In addition to their academic credentials, Karen is a certified arbitrator from ARIAS-U.S. and holds the Fellow designation from the Casualty Actuarial Society as well as the Member designation from the American Academy of Actuaries.
