Aaron McLane

Aaron McLane has a diverse work experience in the field of information technology. Aaron is currently working as the Director of Information Technology at McDaniel since August 2022. Prior to this, they worked as an Information Technology Project Management Consultant at The Ian Martin Group, specifically working with Enbridge from November 2021 to August 2022.

Before joining The Ian Martin Group, Aaron was employed at Tundra Technical Solutions as an Information Technology Project Coordinator for TC Energy from December 2019 to November 2021. Aaron played a crucial role in supporting TC Energy's cybersecurity and infrastructure project.

In 2019, Aaron worked as an IT Consultant at PCM Canada, where they served as an IT Project Manager for the Client Wood Buffalo Environmental Association. Aaron'sresponsibilities included improving the documentation process and aiding WBEA's management team in making informed decisions.

Previous to their role at PCM Canada, Aaron worked as an IT Consultant at Falcon Systems, where they provided remote IT support to various businesses in the Calgary market. Additionally, they have extensive experience as an IT Manager at OMERS Energy Services LP from July 2011 to February 2017, where they supported users and their applications across the organization.

Aaron also has a background as a self-employed IT Consultant, working for multiple clients across various industries from 2003 to 2011. Moreover, they started their career as a Technical Specialist at Explorer Software Solutions, providing software setup, support, and upgrades to oil and gas clients.

Overall, Aaron McLane has gained valuable experience in information technology through their various roles, showcasing their expertise in project management, cybersecurity, infrastructure, and client support.

Aaron McLane attended the Southern Alberta Institute of Technology (SAIT) from 1998 to 2000, where they obtained a degree in Oil & Gas Land Administration. Aaron then pursued further education at SAIT from 2000 to 2002 and earned a Certificate in Computer Networking with a specialization in Computer Systems Networking and Telecommunications.

In addition to their academic achievements, Aaron has obtained several certifications. In 2017, they became a Special Oilwell Operator certified by ABSA, the pressure equipment safety authority. Aaron also holds certifications in H2S Alive and Standard First Aid - Level C, which were obtained in November 2017 from Enform and the St. John Ambulance Council for Federal District, respectively. Furthermore, Aaron holds a Certified Associate in Project Management (CAPM®) certification from the Project Management Institute, which they obtained in January 2018.

Most recently, in 2023, Aaron obtained certifications as an AWS Certified Cloud Practitioner from Amazon Web Services (AWS) in March and as a Proofpoint Certified Insider Threat Specialist in April from Proofpoint.
