Zhan Niu started working as a Machine Learning Intern at CGG in March 2020 and continued in this role until August 2020. They then joined McDaniel & Associates in April 2021 as a Data Analyst, where they are currently working.
Zhan Niu completed a Master of Science (MS) degree in Least-squares RTM, FWI, and Machine Learning from the University of Calgary, from 2017 to 2021. Prior to that, from 2013 to 2017, they obtained a Bachelor of Science (BS) degree in Geophysics and Seismology from the same university. Before their undergraduate studies, Zhan Niu attended China University of Petroleum, Beijing from 2011 to 2013, although the degree name for this period is unknown. Additionally, Zhan Niu has completed several certifications in various machine learning topics from Coursera, including courses such as Build Basic Generative Adversarial Networks (GANs), Sequence Models, Convolutional Neural Networks, Improving Deep Neural Networks: Hyperparameter tuning, Regularization and Optimization, Neural Networks and Deep Learning, and Structuring Machine Learning Projects.
