Dan Lustig

President & CEO at Haymarket Center

Drawing on more than two decades of experience at Haymarket Center, President and CEO Dan Lustig, Psy.D., MISA II, CAADC, puts client care and outcomes at the center of agency management. In this role, Dr. Lustig directs strategy and operations for Haymarket Center, drawing on and embracing the agency’s core values of professionalism, diversity, integrity, teamwork, financial focus, and customer-centric operations. Before assuming the role in 2016, Dr. Lustig served in multiple roles at Haymarket, including clinician, researcher, and administrator. He has served as project director for numerous federal grants from the Substance Abuse Mental Health Services Administration (SAMHSA), the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, the Bureau of Justice Assistance, and the Administration for Children and Families. At Haymarket, he has built safe, caring, inclusive relationships with employees at all levels, a critical component to building and maintaining an agency culture of trauma-informed care and trust.

Dr. Lustig is a member of the SAMHSA National Advisory Council, the Illinois Substance Use Prevention and Recovery (SUPR) Advisory Council, and the American Psychological Association. He is the immediate past president of the Illinois Alcohol and Other Drug Abuse Professional Association. In addition to his advocacy, service work, and expertise in psychology, Dr. Lustig holds a certification in mentally ill substance abusers (MISA II) and is a certified advanced substance abuse counselor (CAADC). He holds certifications in substance abuse counseling from Adler University and addictions from the Betty Ford Center. Dr. Lustig earned a PsyD and MA in Clinical Psychology from Adler University and a BA from Northeastern Illinois University.
