Matthew Madden

Matthew Madden is a seasoned legal professional with extensive experience in both private practice and public service. Currently serving as Partner at McDermott Will & Emery since February 2024, Madden previously held the position of Chief of the Criminal Division at the US Attorney’s Office for the Northern District of Illinois from November 2021 to February 2024. From November 2008, Madden advanced through various roles at the United States Attorney's Office, culminating in leadership positions within the Criminal Division. Earlier in the career, Madden contributed as an Associate at McDermott Will & Emery and gained judicial experience as a Law Clerk for judges in the Seventh Circuit Court of Appeals and the United States District Court for the Southern District of Indiana. Madden earned a Juris Doctor from the University of Illinois College of Law and a Bachelor of Arts from the University of Notre Dame, complemented by early volunteer work with the Jesuit Volunteer Corps and Rostro de Cristo.
