Shannon Fraser serves as the Associate Chair of Faculty Life and a Surgeon at McGill University since October 2005. In addition, Shannon holds multiple roles at CIUSSS du Centre-Ouest-de-l'Île-de-Montréal, including Medical Director of the C4 Command Center, Medical Flow Coordinator, and Chair of the Pertinence de Pratique Committee, effective from September 2017. Shannon is the Chief of the Division of General Surgery at Jewish General Hospital since June 2009 and has also served as President of the Canadian Society of Physician Leaders from May 2022 to November 2024. Previous leadership experience includes Site Chief of Surgery at CIUSSs l'ODI and Interim Chief of the Department of Surgery at Lakeshore General Hospital from April 2013 to April 2017. Shannon holds a Master of Science in Experimental Surgery from McGill University and a Doctor of Medicine from the University of Toronto, alongside additional degrees in Zoology from Western University.
