Wayne Pollard has a diverse work experience in various research and academic roles. Wayne started their career as an Exploration Geologist at Canadian Occidental Petroleum, Minerals Division in 1975. Wayne then worked as an NSERC Post-Doctoral Fellow at the Canadian Government Laboratory Program from 1984 to 1986. After that, they joined Memorial University of Newfoundland as an Assistant Professor from 1986 to 1988. In 1988, they became a Full Professor and Research Director at McGill University. Wayne also served as the Research Director at McGill Arctic Research Station (MARS) and Canadian Analogue Research Network (CARN) site from 1990 onwards. In 2003, they took up the role of Director at McGill Centre for Climate and Global Change Research (C2GCR) until 2005.
