Sophia Makris is a Partner at McGinnis Lochridge since March 2019, where the focus is on corporate transactions, day-to-day matters as outside general counsel, and advising clients on financing transactions, mergers and acquisitions, corporate governance, and commercial leasing. Prior to this role, Sophia served as an Associate at Alston & Bird LLP from September 2017 to March 2019, representing corporate borrowers, equity sponsors, and lenders in complex domestic and international commercial lending transactions. Additional experience includes a law clerk position at Grotefeld, Hoffmann, Schleiter, Gordon, Ochoa & Evinger, LLP, summer associate work at Alston & Bird LLP, judicial internship at the U.S. Department of Justice, and various legal internships, including a legislative internship for the Texas A&M University System. Sophia earned a Juris Doctor degree from The University of Texas School of Law and a Bachelor of Arts degree in History from Texas A&M University.
