Robert Baum

Robert “Bob” Baum is a Partner in MKCI’s Florham Park, New Jersey office. He is an experienced civil litigator who has tried more than 100 cases in State and New Jersey Federal District Court to verdict, involving a wide range of legal issues including asbestos exposure, benzene exposure, medical malpractice and products liability. He has been involved with every aspect of litigation from the answering of the complaint to the arguing of any subsequent appeals.

He currently assists National Coordinating Counsel by defending the depositions of various corporate witnesses, including the extensive preparation of same necessary for the current environment of corporate witness depositions. In addition, he regularly takes the lead during medical and liability expert depositions, and enjoys challenging opposing experts based upon his extensive research on the applicable subject matter. He is a voracious reader and reviews not only the current literature, but the commentary of other authors thereon and the critics of both.

In addition to his litigation experience, Bob enjoys serving as a mentor to various attorneys at MKCI and frequently shares his knowledge and experience in a collaborative setting.

Bob received a Martindale-Hubbell® Very High* rating in both Legal Ability and Ethical Standards for 2021.

When not engaged in legal pursuits, Bob enjoys crossword puzzles and is a self proclaimed news junkie.

Bob obtained his Juris Doctor degree for Seton Hall University School of Law. He earned a Bachelor of Science in Business Administration from Michigan State University. Bob received an Honorable Discharge from the United States Army after serving in Vietnam. He was employed as an accountant by a pharmaceutical company before entering the Army and after discharge while attending law school.
