Timothy Parlin

Tim Parlin is a Partner in MKCI’s New York City and Syracuse, NY offices, with over 30 years of litigation experience. He handles complex commercial cases including multi-district litigation, class actions, construction-related litigation, commercial suits, products liability/toxic and mass torts, environmental and employment disputes. Tim has significant first and second chair trial experience in Federal and state courts around the country, having tried more than 15 cases to verdict, as well experience handling arbitrations and mediations for domestic and international companies.

In addition to his litigation background, Tim has an extensive background advising clients on insurance coverage issues and representing them in insurance coverage litigation. He has negotiated, litigated and settled insurance coverage disputes involving: advertising injury; asbestos; bad faith; business torts; construction defect; directors & officers liability; environmental; errors & omissions; financial guaranty; mold; products liability; and tobacco.

Tim has published numerous articles and presented at various panel discussions, addressing topics such as litigation trends, construction defect, and insurance coverage issues, including recent trends in allocation issues, contractual risk transfer, and business interruption insurance.

Outside of the law, Tim has been involved in recording books for the blind. Additionally, Tim is an avid photographer who can be found on the sidelines taking pictures of his sons’ football and lacrosse games and track meets.

Tim obtained his Juris Doctor degree from Brooklyn Law School, where he was the Notes Editor on the Journal of International Law and was a Member of the National Moot Court Honor Board. Upon graduation, Tim served as a Law Clerk for The Honorable David O. Belew, Jr., United States District Court Judge, Northern District of Texas – Fort Worth Division, where he oversaw the Multidistrict Litigation stemming from the wind-shear crash of Delta Flight 191 at Dallas-Fort Worth Airport, among other matters. Tim also earned a Masters of Science degree in Advertising from Northwestern University, and a Bachelor of Science degree in Advertising from Syracuse University.
