Kate Zaykowski has a diverse work experience in strategic communications and public affairs. Kate is currently the Senior Vice President of Strategic Communications at McGuireWoods Consulting, a role they have held since March 2023. Prior to this, they served as the Vice President of Strategic Communications at the same company from August 2021 to March 2023.
Before joining McGuireWoods Consulting, Kate worked as the Director of Public Affairs for Commissioner Jim Wright at the Railroad Commission of Texas from January 2021 to August 2021.
Kate also has experience in the energy industry, having worked at Parsley Energy as the Director of Public Affairs & Corporate Communications from June 2020 to January 2021, and previously as the Corporate Communications & Legislative Affairs Specialist from September 2018 to June 2020.
In addition, Kate has held various communication roles in government and political organizations, including Director of Communications at the Texas Oil and Gas Association from March 2015 to August 2018, Director of Accounts at Harris Media LLC from August 2013 to March 2015, and Director of Communications at the Texas Senate from February 2013 to September 2013. Kate also worked on political campaigns, serving as the Pennsylvania Communications Director for Romney for President from June 2012 to November 2012, and as a Press Secretary for the U.S. House of Representatives from February 2012 to June 2012.
Earlier in their career, Kate worked as a Senior Account Manager at DCI Group from April 2011 to February 2012, where they focused on digital communication and online public affairs strategy for corporate clients. Kate also gained experience in new media and press relations as an Assistant Press Secretary in the United States Senate from April 2010 to June 2011.
Kate Zaykowski completed their Bachelor's degree in Communication and Media Studies at Texas Tech University from 2005 to 2009. During the same time period, they also obtained a Bachelor of Arts (B.A.) in Public Relations/Image Management from the College of Media & Communication at Texas Tech University. Later, from 2010 to 2013, they pursued a Master of Arts (MA) degree in Communications - Political/Digital at The Johns Hopkins University.
