Ricky Wood

District Chief at Montgomery County Hospital District

Ricky Wood has extensive work experience in the field of emergency medical services (EMS). Ricky started their career in 1983 as an EMT-B in Brooks County E.M.S, where they later became the Operations Manager. Ricky also worked as a Paramedic for Chuck Curtis Ambulance and Allyn Ambulance, gaining experience in both emergency and non-emergency patient care. In 2008, they joined Huntsville Memorial Hospital as a Registered Nurse, specializing in critical care. Ricky then transitioned to the Montgomery County Hospital District, where they held various leadership positions, including Deputy Chief and District Chief. In these roles, they were responsible for the management and coordination of EMS personnel, incident response, customer service, training, and clinical evaluations. Throughout their career, Ricky Wood has demonstrated a strong commitment to patient care, leadership, and continuous learning.

Ricky Wood attended Lone Star College from 2005 to 2008, where they earned an ADN degree in Professional Nursing. Prior to that, from 1993 to 1999, they studied Paramedic Technology at North Harris Montgomery Community College, earning an AAS degree. In addition to their formal education, Ricky Wood also obtained a certification in "Top 10 Rules for Highly Effective Leadership" from LinkedIn in February 2023.
