Derick Waters

Derick Waters has extensive experience in law enforcement and education. Currently serving as a Deputy Sheriff at the McHenry County Sheriff's Office since June 2005, Derick is involved in various roles, including Field Training Officer, Firearms Instructor, and Crisis Intervention Team officer. Derick is a certified Arson Investigator and has previously served as a Staff Sergeant in the Army National Guard, deploying to Afghanistan in support of Operation Enduring Freedom. In addition, Derick has worked as a Substitute Teacher for CHSD 155 School District since May 2021. Derick holds a Master of Arts in History from Northern Illinois University, a Bachelor’s Degree in History from the University of Illinois Springfield, and an Associate of Arts from McHenry County College.
