Yas is an Associate specialising in government law, administrative law, personal injury litigation, and commonwealth compensation. He has worked in the private and government sectors as an Australian Public Service employee and has been seconded to a Commonwealth Government Agency.
Yas has experience in defending both Victorian and Commonwealth workers' compensation claims and personal injury litigation across both statutory and common law claims for self-insurers (Vic), Commonwealth Government Agencies, and national licensees (Cth).
His experience in administrative and government law and personal injury includes having assisted in establishing a large national Commonwealth insurance scheme and working in-house at a national Commonwealth regulator and compensation scheme.
In his spare time, Yas is a casual academic with Deakin University for Torts Law (Juris doctorate and undergraduate) and Personal Injuries Compensation Schemes. Yas is also a committee member of the Law Institute of Victoria Government Lawyers Section and the the South Yarra Cricket Club.
