Larry Piercey has a wide range of experience in the marine industry. Larry began their career in the Royal Canadian Navy as a Marine Engineer Technician, serving a 7-year contract. After leaving the Navy with full honor retirement, they pursued a career in the merchant marine. Larry then worked for Secunda Marine, starting as an Oiler and working their way up to Third Engineer. During this time, they gained experience working on offshore anchor handlers and deep-sea construction/cable laying vessels. Larry also worked for Canada Fisheries as a First Engineer on a deep-sea shrimp trawler, and for ION Geophysical as a Third Engineer, assisting with a major refit project. Larry had the opportunity to work on Fairbanks and Morris engines and DC drives. Larry also worked for MTL as a Chief Engineer on a small tug boat and for Atlantic Towing Limited, gaining knowledge in the coastal tug industry. More recently, Larry worked for McKeil Marine Limited as a Chief Engineer and Marine Engineer. Larry is currently serving in the role of Chief Engineer (3rd Class Marine) at McKeil Marine Limited.
Larry Piercey attended the Marine Institute of Memorial University in 2006, where they earned a degree in Engine Room Rating. Larry'sfield of study focused on Marine Maintenance, Fitter, and Ship Repair Technology/Technician.
