Gary Simmons DO

Gary Simmons, DO, MSHA, is a Medical Director of Cell and Gene Therapies at McKesson and a Medical Doctor at Virginia Oncology Associates. With extensive experience in cellular therapy and stem cell transplantation, they have demonstrated a strong background in oncology, hematology, healthcare, clinical research, and medical education. Gary completed an internal medicine residency at VCU Health, where they received multiple awards, including the Arnold GOLD and Humanism Award. As an associate professor, they led innovative projects in cellular therapy and trained over 700 employees on CAR T-cells. They graduated from Virginia Commonwealth University with a Master of Science in Health Administration in 2023.
