Joe Carter

Joe Carter is an accomplished professional with extensive experience in pastoral leadership, editing, and communications. Since September 2019, Joe has served as Associate Pastor at McLean Bible Church and has contributed as an Editor for The Gospel Coalition since January 2012. Previous roles include Senior Editor at the Acton Institute, Communications Specialist at the Ethics & Religious Liberty Commission, and Adjunct Professor of Journalism at Patrick Henry College. Joe has also held key editorial positions at First Things Magazine and Culture11, and served as Director of Web Communications at the Family Research Council. Joe’s background includes military service as an Avionics Technician in the U.S. Marine Corps. Educational credentials include a Master’s in Theological Studies from Midwestern Baptist Theological Seminary and a Bachelor’s degree in Liberal Studies from Excelsior University.
