Throstur Bjorgvinsson, PhD., ABPP, has a strong and varied work experience in the field of behavioral health. Thröstur is currently an Associate Professor at Harvard Medical School, a role they have held since May 2015. Prior to this, they were the Director of the Behavioral Health Partial Hospital Program at McLean Hospital, a position they held since 2009. Additionally, they served as the Director of the Houston OCD Program, where they offered specialized treatment for individuals with anxiety disorders, phobias, depression, and OC Spectrum Disorders, using various empirically supported treatment styles including Cognitive-Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Exposure and Response Prevention (ERP), mindfulness, and Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT). Dr. Bjorgvinsson's earlier experience includes being the Program Director of the Menninger OCD Treatment Program at The Menninger Clinic.
Thröstur Björgvinsson, PhD., ABPP holds a Doctoral degree in Clinical Psychology from Queen's University. Prior to their PhD, they obtained a Bachelor of Arts degree in Psychology from Háskóli Íslands.
