Bogdana Borysova

Vice President at McMaster SynBio

Bogdana Borysova is currently a Campus Tour Guide and Residence Ambassador at McMaster University, where engagement with prospective students is a primary focus. In addition, Bogdana serves as a Wet Lab Member at McMaster SynBio. With extensive experience as a Dance Instructor at Wild Fire Dance Studio, Bogdana teaches various dance styles and creates original choreography. Leadership skills are evident from previous roles, including Student Council Co-President at Alexander Mackenzie High School, where Bogdana coordinated numerous events, and Director of Operations for Pledges for Change, managing a virtual event to connect students with volunteer opportunities. As Elevate Program Manager for FCSS-FESC, Bogdana advanced mental health support for marginalized students. Other roles include Director of Content Writing at Superposition Toronto and Lead Public Relations Executive at Notify Youth. Bogdana is pursuing a Bachelor's of Health Sciences (Honours) in Biochemistry at McMaster University, building on a foundation established through an International Baccalaureate at Alexander Mackenzie High School.

McMaster SynBio

McMaster SynBio is a student-led synthetic biology research team at McMaster University. Our team aims to gather undergraduate students passionate about scientific research, and provide them with the opportunity to work on an innovative student-led project that will benefit the real world. Through the areas of Wet Lab, Engineering, Human Practices and Media, our goal is to inspire and educate the McMaster community about synthetic biology, as well as compete annually in iGEM (Internationally Genetically Engineered Machine).
