Lead Educational Developer, Professional Development In Teaching Mandate Area at McMaster University

Dr. Erin Allard has extensive experience in the field of educational development and teaching. Dr. Erin has worked at McMaster University since 2012, where they have held various roles such as Lead Educational Developer, Program Area Lead, and Instructional Designer. In these positions, they have overseen the delivery of teaching development programs and services, provided support and guidance to colleagues, and conducted research on teaching certificate programs and course effectiveness. Prior to McMaster University, Dr. Allard worked at the Ontario Problem Gambling Research Centre and Wilfrid Laurier University, where they held roles as a Knowledge Mobilization Agent and Sessional Instructor. Additionally, they have experience as a Sessional Instructor and Online Course Designer at the University of Guelph. Through their work experience, Dr. Allard has demonstrated a commitment to enhancing teaching and learning in higher education.

Dr. Erin Allard holds a PhD in Applied Social Psychology from the University of Guelph, which they obtained from 2005 to 2013. Prior to that, they earned a Masters of Arts in Social/Developmental Psychology from Wilfrid Laurier University, from 2003 to 2005. Dr. Erin completed their Bachelor of Arts in Psychology at Mount Allison University from 1999 to 2003. In addition, they have obtained a Strategic Leaders Program Certificate from McMaster University Continuing Education in 2023.
