Lisa Colizza has a diverse work experience spanning several organizations and roles. Lisa started their career in education as a Secondary School Teacher at the Halton Board of Education from 1990 to 1993. Lisa then transitioned to the healthcare sector, working as a Behaviour Therapist (ABA) at Hamilton Health Sciences from 1992 to 2002, and later as a Regional Stroke Education Coordinator from 2002 to 2007.

In 2007, Lisa joined MetaLearn Education Research and Development as a Principal, where they provided project management, strategic planning, and program design/development/implementation/evaluation support to clients in the health care, education, and private sector. Lisa engaged in knowledge transfer, CBME/medical education, and quality improvement, with a focus on utilizing technology and innovative strategies to optimize knowledge translation, stakeholder engagement, and system performance.

Lisa also held roles at McMaster University, where they served as the Manager of Machealth Programs at the Division of eLearning Innovation from 2007 to 2013. Lisa later became the Director of Planning and External Affairs at the Ontario College of Family Physicians in 2013. At Western University, Lisa worked as a Project Manager for CBME at the Schulich School of Medicine and Dentistry from 2018 to 2019.

Currently, Lisa is involved in the field of Post Graduate Medical Education at McMaster University. Lisa serves as the CBME Lead and Educational Lead Developer/CBME Co-Lead, focusing on enhancing medical education through competency-based medical education (CBME) initiatives.

Lisa Colizza has a Bachelor of Arts degree in Psychology with a focus on Neuro, Brain, and Behaviour from McMaster University, which they completed from 1986 to 1990. Lisa also holds a Master of Education degree in Rehabilitation, Disability, and Community from the University of Calgary, which they obtained between 2000 and 2002. In addition, Lisa completed a Bachelor of Education degree at Queen's University in 1992 and 1993. Lisa has an additional certification in Community-based Neuro-behavioural Rehabilitation from Brock University/OBIA.
