Michel S. Beaulieu

Michel S. Beaulieu has served as Associate Vice-Provost (Academic) at Lakehead University since March 2006, providing strategic direction for academic and non-academic programs while overseeing the Community Zone. A tenured Professor of History, Beaulieu specializes in the economic, labour, political, and social history of Northern Ontario and Canada. Holding various academic roles, including Chair of the Department of History and Director of the Centre for Northern Studies, Beaulieu has contributed significantly to interdisciplinary research and community engagement. Additionally, Beaulieu maintains affiliations with multiple universities, including the University of Helsinki and McMaster University, and plays a leadership role in several professional organizations, including serving as Co-Editor for the Thunder Bay Historical Museum Society's journal. Beaulieu's educational background includes a Ph.D. in History from Queen's University and a range of degrees from Lakehead University, complemented by a certificate in Museum Studies from the Ontario Museum Association.
