Susan Tighe is an accomplished academic and leader in the field of civil engineering with extensive experience in higher education and professional associations. Currently serving as the Provost and Vice-President (Academic) and a Professor of Civil Engineering at McMaster University since July 2020, Tighe has previously held significant roles at the University of Waterloo, including Deputy Provost, Associate Vice-President, and various professorial positions from January 2000 to June 2020. Tighe's leadership in the Canadian Society for Civil Engineering included roles as President and Past President from May 2015 to June 2019. With a PhD and MASc in Civil Engineering from the University of Waterloo and a BSc in Chemical Engineering from Queen's University, Tighe also holds a Chartered Director designation from the DeGroote School of Business at McMaster University. Currently, Tighe contributes as a board member for YWCA Hamilton.
