Joanna Buoniconti is a skilled freelance editor and writer with extensive experience in the publishing industry. Currently serving as a freelance editor at JB's Book Editing and a freelance writer for the Muscular Dystrophy Association, Joanna also writes columns for the Daily Hampshire Gazette. With a solid background in editorial internships at notable organizations such as McSweeney's, North Star Editions, and Ploughshares Journal, Joanna has honed skills in manuscript evaluation, proofreading, and content creation. Joanna holds a graduate degree in Publishing and Writing from Emerson College, alongside dual bachelor’s degrees in English Language and Literature and English and Journalism from the University of Massachusetts Amherst and Commonwealth Honors College, respectively.

McSweeney’s is a publishing company based in San Francisco. As well as operating a daily humor website, we publish a short-story quarterly, a bimonthly magazine, and an ever-growing selection of books under various imprints. We are a fiscally sponsored project of SOMArts, a San Francisco nonprofit arts incubator.
