Henna Budhwani is a trustee at McWane Science Center. Henna was previously a visiting associate professor at University of California, San Francisco from June 2021 to July 2022. Prior to that, they were a consultant at Aga Khan Agency for Microfinance from February 2008 to December 2009 and a senior statistician and statistician at Blue Cross and Blue Shield of Alabama from January 2008 to December 2012. Henna also served as an associate professor of public health at University of Alabama at Birmingham from January 2012 to August 2022. In this role, they were also the director of quality management at Children’s of Alabama, scientist at Center for Clinical and Translational Science (CCTS), associate scientist at Outcomes and Effectiveness Research (COERE), director of Caribbean projects at Sparkman Center for Global Health, scholar at Sparkman Center for Global Health, and associate scientist at Minority Health and Disparities Research Center.
Henna Budhwani has a Ph.D. in Medical Sociology from the University of Alabama at Birmingham, a Master of Public Health in Health Care Organization and Policy also from University of Alabama at Birmingham, and a Master of Arts in Sociology from the same institution. Henna also has a Certificate in Gerontology from University of Alabama at Birmingham. Henna's educational background also includes a Certificate in Management Audit from The London School of Economics and Political Science and completing the Odum Institute Qualitative Research Summer Intensive at University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill.
