Felipe Kitamura, MD, PhD has an extensive work experience. Felipe began their career in 2013 as an Affiliate Professor, Neuroradiologist, and PhD in the Department of Diagnostic Imaging at Unifesp - Universidade Federal de São Paulo. During their time there, they also served as a Neuroradiology Fellow, Radiologist, and Emergency Radiology Collaborator, and completed a Radiology Residency. In 2018, they joined Dasa as Superintendent of Applied Innovation and AI, Head of Innovation in Diagnostic Operations, and Head of the Artificial Intelligence Lab. Felipe also began to serve as a Member of the Machine Learning Steering Committee, Organizer in the Machine Learning Challenge Task Force, and Reviewer for Radiology, Radiology: Cardiothoracic Imaging, RSNA Case Collection, and the In Training Editorial Board of Radiology for the Radiological Society of North America (RSNA). In 2019, they became a Reviewer for Scientific Reports for Nature Research (Publishing), Co-Chair of the Machine Learning Education Sub-committee for the Society for Imaging Informatics in Medicine (SIIM), Medical Consultant for md.ai, and Reviewer for the Journal of Medical Imaging for SPIE Digital Library. In 2020, they were appointed as a Reviewer for European Radiology by the European Society of Radiology, and in 2021, they became a Speaker for GE Healthcare. In 2022, they will join the Mayo Clinic as a Visiting Professor.
Felipe Kitamura, MD, PhD has a comprehensive educational background. Felipe obtained a Doctor of Medicine (MD) from Universidade Federal de Juiz de Fora in 2009, followed by a Medical Residency in Radiology and Diagnostic Imaging from Unifesp - Universidade Federal de São Paulo in 2013. In 2016, they completed a Masters Degree Program in Medicine (Clinical Radiology) from Unifesp - Universidade Federal de São Paulo, and in 2017 they obtained a Doctor of Philosophy - PhD in Deep Learning applied to Radiology from the same university. In 2020, they completed an Online Course in Digital Health Product Development from Stanford University School of Medicine and a Management Essentials course from Harvard Business School Online. In 2023, they are currently enrolled in a Design and Conduct of Clinical Trials course from The Johns Hopkins University. In addition to their degrees, they have obtained several certifications from various institutions, including a Board Certified Radiologist from Colégio Brasileiro de Radiologia e Diagnóstico por Imagem - CBR in 2016 and a First Certificate in English (FCE) from University of Cambridge in 2008.
