Fred Bever

Fred Bever is an experienced communications professional with a diverse background in journalism and media production. Currently serving as the Chief Communications Officer at MDI Biological Laboratory since September 2022, Fred engages with innovative researchers to effectively communicate their groundbreaking discoveries in healing and aging. Previously, from February 2016 to July 2022, Fred worked as a Reporter/Producer for Maine Public, and from January 2012 to January 2016, served as a News Reporter and Producer for NPR, WBUR, and NHPR, focusing on breaking news and in-depth reports. Additionally, Fred directed a six-person news team as the News Director at New England Public Radio from August 2009 to August 2012, and acted as Communications Director for the Maine Public Utilities Commission from February 2007 to July 2009. Early career accomplishments include covering political and public affairs as the Chief Political Correspondent for the Maine Public Broadcasting Network from February 2001 to July 2007. Fred holds a Bachelor of Arts degree in Comparative Religion from Columbia University, obtained between 1982 and 1986.
